Living it Out

I have come to the conclusion that living in the "real world" is not all it's cracked up to be. Much easier to write about than to do. Kind of like trying to breathe air with gills.

I shall endeavor to persevere.

"The real world." Now, there's a land to explore! But, I don't seem to have the right map, either. Maybe it's the place beyond the edge on those old maps that show us the world is flat and where monsters be.

Take a look at Stephen Mitchell's translatin of Rilke's "Archaic Torso of Apollo," which expresses an idea of 'real' that I'll hang my own hat on. And, keep on keeping on. To blog is to be.

Phoebs--So He did, didn't He? I still get a great deal of satisfaction from looking heavenward occasionally and demanding, "What WERE You thinking!?" So far the lightening strikes have done minimal damage.

David--No, no! The land beyond the edges of the map is where I live normally!!! It's the boring stuff in the middle that gives me coniption fits! The poem--yes. That reality IS Real in the best and brightest sense. A shard of sanity beyond whatever we've known.

Cindy, remember that, even according to Jesus, the world's not really "cracked up to be" such a great place - remember who's allowed to run the show for the time being. But thankfully we are not of the world, even though we do have to live in it - with Jesus walking right along beside us all the way through. Just keep on walking...you're doing just fine. Deb

Maybe, it takes the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our heart to actually see the ‘real world’ and what it means to be in Christ?

I love these quotes from the movie, The Matrix;

Morpheus: You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he expects to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth.

Morpheus: Welcome to the real world.

Randy--and you say I'm dramatic! :)

Deb--Oh, most definitely not of this world! (Scott checked for Maritan antennae, but evidently I'm not of that one, either) Thank goodness.

Richard--I enjoyed Matrix, and I certainly appreciate the quotes. Spot on.

Haha .. and that's the right attitude!!! Nobody said life was a dream, but it is what you make of it, so if you want it wonderful, you have to make it wonderful! You go, girl! *Astrid shakes her pom-poms and wiggles around*
