Overheard Tonight in the Living Room

Older daughter to younger:

"Oh yeah!? Well you should be glad you've got me, 'cause otherwise you'd be the oldest, and then they'd experiment on you!

K. read this and said "tell Cindy to send that one to Reader's Digest!" He chuckled over it for quite some time.

Only one problem if it's published -- does Ivy get the money because she said it, or do you get the money because you sent it in? :)

Your daughter sounds wise. I am the oldest, and as such was denied processed food until a ridiculous age, was not allowed to have a pocket knife until college (my brother was given one at age 6), was held to a very rigid bedtime, and once claimed to be the guinea pig my parents never had... but "the babies" (now 8, 11, 17, and 20) were, of course, worth it. They have repaid me for paving the way by being my biggest fans and always making life...interesting.

Megan--Younger siblings are great. Perhaps mostly because we can experiment on them ourselves long before we have children ourselves. :)
