It's All About You

I found this intriguing little meme over at Cheaper Than Therapy and thought to spring it on you all and see what you think. (Or to find out which of my readers are intrepid enough to find out what I think--about them).

Leave your name and...
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll try to say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST.

(But I'll also email you answers if you don't have a blog and would still like to play.)

1. You like the idea of cats, but don't especially like cats themselves.
2. Lady Jane--you stay with your convictions despite the pain they cause you.
3. Sugarless peach--and it's thumb wrestling, so we can eat it afterwards.
4. You have no sense of humor.
5. Asking you for a tutoring application and thinking I was surely talking to the wrong person, because you didn't seem intimidating enough. (It's ok. You had Dave to make up for the deficit.)
6. A cat, actually, a very homey, cozy, neat, contented cat who lives in a book-filled home with sunshiney corners.
7. When all is said and done, and you look back on your life, will you really feel regretful about all the lives you've touched and influenced through your teaching, or will you say, "It is good"?

Me too! Me too!

(Perhaps I've been around the desk monkeys too long this week.)

Great Scott--
1. Your eyes match the sky in summer.
2. Anything by Bob Dylan
3. Oh, Baby! Any flavor at all! :::checking to see if you're blushing yet:::
4. "Unplug it!"
5. My first memory: You were sitting in the back of a class with a brown leather jacket, black beret, lizardskin (?) coyboy boots and three earrings in your ear, talking to a friend, your feet propped on the seat of the desk in front of you. My first thought? "That guy is one to stay away from!"
6. A hawk.
7. If you hadn't have married me, what would you have ended up doing?

I like the idea of being intrepid and I'm very curious as to what you might write about me.

Heh. Interesting meme this is.

Seeker--
1. Slurpies make you uncommonly happy.
2. "Fish Heads"
3. Strawberry. It's a friendly sort of flavor.
4. Since we know each other through our blogs, there isn't anything that only the two of us would know. So I'm up a tree on this one. Out on a limb. Just plain stumped.
5. First memory--Finding your blog just about the time you were posting the Darth Turtles and Yoda pictures. I knew then you were someone to watch. (And, yes, the ambiguity in that last statement is deliberate.)
6. Oh, three-toed box turtles forever!
7. What do you teach? (I may have missed this on your blog. If so, I apologise.)

Just to say -- I promise to post this, I just have to get ready for a weekend guest and grade approximately two thousand three hundred and forty-eight pieces of homework first . . . ARGH! Monday I can get back to the computer and actually respond!

Blessings,

Beth

Beth--In your own time.

Jeremy--
1. You have lots of computers and a close family.
2. Not a song or a movie. A Saturday morning cartoon on FOX network (I think) named One Piece. It's about pirates. I think of you every weekend.
3. Whichever flavor is teal colored. Blueberry?
4. If we thought so much alike that I could come up with something that made sense only to the two of us, I'd be concerned. Seriously, everything passed between the two of us has been in in the public arena. So kind of a moot point.
5. My clearest memory of you has to do with search engine wars. I am still entertained.
6. Some kind of desert kangaroo rat, maybe? Quick on your feet, quick witted, bright-eyed and sharp.
7. What makes you catch your breath in wonder? Really.

Hello Cindy,
Haven't been on your blogsite for awhile (I'm sorry about that, but seems like I haven't really been doing much lately on internet except checking my email). I'm a little late with this meme, but I'd love to see what you think about me too. I can't resist these things! HA! Debbie

OK, this is cool. I like what you did with Jeremy's name. I'm next, I s'pose...

Cindy, I've done my part, and answered your question:

(I'm NOT sure that blueberry would yeild a teal flavor though)

Pssst! Dave, the meme doesn't just work off the name; it requires at least SOME knowledge of the person.

Dave--I have no idea who on the good Lord's green earth you are. But, hey, that just makes it more fun, right? :D

1. You're not shy.
2. A book instead: Where the Wild Things Are. Because you go places you've not been before and are ready to have fun when you arrive.
3. Lime, the source of my superpowers, so I'll be sure to win. (Which one needs to be sure of doing when Jello-wrestling with complete strangers.)
4. I plead complete and blissful ignorance.
5. My first memory of you, formed exactly 10 minutes ago, is a combination of the following thoughts: a). It takes a lot of guts to ask a complete stranger to give you a reflection of yourself; and b). "Who the heck is this guy?! Oh! One of Jeremy's friends! Well, that explains it then, doesn't it?" ;)
6. A monkey. A bit hyper and probably fairly intelligent. (Said without any insult intended at all.)
7. Who the heck are you? :)

Looking forward to following your new blog, BTW. Good luck with it.

*Very Loud and Obnoxious "HA!"*

Very well done, Cindy
You are way too creative for my own good.

Any compliment from you, Jeremy, is a compliment indeed. Thank you very much. I am sincerely (if probably temporarily) humbled.

Beth Impson said...

1. Right on! The cat that ambushed me from under a friend's sofa back in junior high gave a bad name to real cats . . .

2. I have not seen it, but will now find it! What I'm reading about it makes me quite humbled.

3. Mmmm . . .

4. :-)

6. I like it. If there were reincarnation, that's the life I'd want next time! (provided my human would promise not to try flushing me down the toilet . . . !)

7. No, I won't regret any good that has come. But I will regret the loss of that which I believe would have been better -- because I believe had I been doing what I am ideally called to do, God would not have abandoned anyone whom I've had the privilege to touch in the life I've had. Someone would have been in their lives in the same or even a better way. (Not eloquent, but you get the idea. It's too early in the morning for eloquence, I'm afraid.)

Thanks, LuCindy. I am honored by your love.

Blessings,

Beth
