The Poser Snarl

I am not a poet. I am not even a writer. What I am is a pen and ink and paper addict, a word addict, someone who scribbles in compulsive spurts and who, honestly, is about as happy to write a letter or a list of random words or to copy out a nice bit of someone else's writing as she is to write her own. Maybe more so. Often, most definitely more so.

Lately pen and paper mock me. I pick them up, and they whisper snide things beneath my pen strokes. What I need is to write utter nonsense, equally snide patter that has little literary value but that is a relief to write just for the sake of its smart-alek-y-ness.

So. Give me topics upon which to snarl, topics about which to be sharply witty and ascerbic. I need the excuse.

Cindy: I have a great deal of difficulty in thinking of you as a non-poet person... so if it is alright with you, I'd like to at minimum view you as one of the better "non-poet Poets" that I know of. Will that work with you?

Michael...

P.S ~ I do however so totally understand the pen addiction thingy.

Oh my, I almost forgot a topic...

How about the therapeutic values of written expression and or the use of poetry to achieve greater personal awareness.

If you have time - you could go one to explain the meaning of life.... ;)

Okay, if you're not a writer, stop the pretty writing, alright already?

There's a topic for you then: how do I [you] disguise my writing better so that it doesn't seem like I know one arse-pect of it?

Have you ever been to Eureka Springs, AR? I was there last weekend and that place is full of fodder for snarky commentary.

Beth--working on wonders of technology post. :)

Michael--Hey, anytime I can be a better non-poet Poet, that's just snifty. Ah-HA! I told you an addiction would be forthcoming, did I not? As for the topic...oh, the soapbox that one could provoke!

PredictablePoet--Ah! Sounds like you may have fertile ground there, yourself. Will see what I can do, but would also love to see what YOU'D have to say about that one.

Teri--Pretty writing? Forsooth, I knoweth not of what thou speakest. :) Actually, you're going to have to explain what you mean by the topic suggestion. I got bamboozled reading it. You must have disguised its arse-pect well.

Oh, Seeker!--I honeymooned in Eureka Springs! You want to talk about some funny stuff involving cheese and bolts and an air conditioner and Bob Dylan! Yes, that's a post that needs to happen!

I meant by my unclear suggestion that you should write on how to not write well. Then, you should see if you fall into that category.

I suspected you had visited Eureka Springs. From the little I saw of it (and the little I know of you) it seemed like the kind of place you might be drawn to visiting at least once in your life.

Seeker--I'm not quite sure how to take that. It sounds a bit like a potentially snarky comment in and of itself. Care to elaborate?

Well now, if you are really needing help coming up with some snarky-cheesy writing ideas...I stumbled across a site that has zillions of random this and that generators, including writing topics. You might want to go peek at it just for fun.

Sometimes I can actually produce some good stuff, but most of it is just crap.

Crap can be good if it produces one or two good posts along the way, dontcha think?

Hmmm...I'm not sure I can elaborate without digging myself into a hole, but I meant for it to be a positive comment. From what I saw the town seemed to have a strong bohemian and christian culture meshed together which I thought would appeal to you.

I also honeymooned in Eureka Springs and am just not sure what to think about the nonbashing going on here. ;o)

Lucindy, p'raps you should just sell your arty scribbles on Ebay. There's an entire genre of art out there based on creativity with...penmanship. Heraldry, anyone?
